- Swan: 介紹下作品的概念與意義所在


- NIKO EDWARDS: 這是我的第三個藝術裝置作品 也是外星系列的拓展深化 以自己的理解將天文學中的黑洞理論 一分為二的在現實維度中展開 上方為球體表示其形態 即是一個接近完美天體 下方為水循環系統表示黑洞吸積作用 即物質向中央引力體的流動 二者合一即是黑洞的樣貌 一切物質皆無法逃脫其無限吸力 即使是光 也難逃黑暗的吸食 通過藝術的形式 在現實中製造一個黑洞是有趣的 不再讓黑洞只抽象與文字 圖片亦或是視頻 而是真正的出現在現實中 現實意義在於把抽象概念轉化為實物 能用感官去感受 體驗 觸碰 由真實的情境去衍生無限種可能的思想觸發 行走於黑洞的边缘 近距离的接触 互动 在行為藝術之中 探討人與黑洞的關係 與宇宙之間的哲思 見炙熱的靈魂 即使沉於黑暗至深 也不會泯滅 不會消失 這概是探尋黑暗的極致 置身於那漫無邊界的暗物質時空 以人之軀體 形之魂狀 與黑洞完成一次超維對話 




- Swan: Please introduce the concept and the significance ofthe project.


- NIKO EDWARDS: This is my third installation, also a further attempt, an expansion of my alien series. I divided the astronomy theory of black hole into two dimension and make it visible after my deliberation. At the top of the sphere is my imagination of the shape of black hole, close to a flawless object. The water system below stand for the peculiarity of black hole accretion which attract things towards it through the curvature generated. Combining these two objects, then the appearance of the black hole comes. Any kind of material can not get ride of its own infinite suction, equally, lights, can not escape from the absorption of darkness. This is intriguing to create a black hole in reality through the form of art, breaking the limited representation of images, video. The practical significant of the project lies in the action which turn the abstract concept into entity which means people can use their senses to feel, to touch, expanding the variety of the concept through the experience. Walking in the edge of the black hole, making a close contact, reflecting the interaction. This is might be the way to explore the ultimate of darkness, exposing in the time and the space of borderless dark with human’s body, shaping inside of soul and completing an ultra-dimensional dialogue.

- Swan: 一次與黑洞的超維對話 那麼是如何實現這一計劃的呢?


- NIKO EDWARDS: 從我一紙想法到項目的最終成型 歷時了三個多月的時間 同我上一個裝置「 無人前來 - BURNING SOULS」一樣 通過眾籌的方式 由兩百多位支持者贊助了大部分資金 並在 LEO HUANG 的提供下 獲得了一個一千平方米的廠房空間 進行項目的建成 於PANDA LUO / 黃桐嘉 / 陳博爾等好友的協助下完成了前期的三維建模、施工圖紙以及工程造價 另在黃桐嘉 / 孫俊賢 / 孫子益及其施工隊 的力助下 完成了結構工程施工 并解決了一些實際建造中的問題 電力以及水系統由我 測試 搭設 完成 整個建造裝置過程用時一周多 佔地三十六平方 非常感謝對我項目支持的各位 雖然經歷了一些難題 但也在這一次的裝置製作中學習了不少新的經驗 與新的體驗 為往後的裝置帶來了更多的靈感

- Swan:  從你的創作歷程中 看出多數時候是 透過作品以及裝置等藝術方式來表達自己 那麼藝術對於你來說意味著什麼 ?


- NIKO EDWARDS:可在現實中構造超現實的環境 在現實中誕生原本虛擬的事物 最重要的是 能以人為單位 可以參與其中 碰撞出潛在的可能性 產生不可估量的思索價值 這是藝術美妙之處 於我而言是最自然與自在的表達的途徑 像語言一般 甚至是一種與身俱來而後天覺現的母語 與世界 與宇宙對話 無所阻礙 當我們面臨未知生命與文明的存在時 人類語言以及其他數據 皆無法溝通時 對話的形式 何嘗不可通過藝術來解決呢 可能定義不同 解讀亦不同 但在視覺與感知上一定會尋獲某種共性 而這契合點 將打開新的維度與紀元 所以我也希望通過藝術 建立自我的物象世界與哲思體系 為那一共性而表達創作




- Swan:  From your creations, see that you most of the time, expressing your ideas through paintings and installations andother artistic forms to present them . So what is art for you?

- NIKO EDWARDS:which can be constructed in surreal environment,giving a birth of virtual things in reality. The main point is that people are the principal part who can take part in the creation, having a collision which inspire potential possibilities, resulting in inestimable value of thinking, making art an epic poetry. In my case, the most natural and comfortable way of expression is like language in general, dialogue with the world and the universe, nothing to hinder. When we are faced with the unknown life and the existence of civilization, human language and other data are unable to communicate, why not use art instead of the form of dialogue? May be there are some different definitions and interpretations, but we feel that there are some universalities in people’s visual sense and perceptivity. And this conjunction will open up new dimensions and epochs. Therefore, I also hope that I could establish a self-image of world and philosophy system for the common of expression of creativity by art.

- Swan: 顯然要能夠完成這些項目 相信不單需要有想法 也需要一定的勇氣與執行力 才能完成 可以告訴我們 是什麼驅動你的执行动力的或者說是出於怎樣的目的?


- NIKO EDWARDS:对我而言 靈感所具有的是瞬時性 若不紀錄與執行 也就消散無際 不可復原 而且在有想法與準備的前提架構下 從不會用以後具有特定條件成熟再來行動 當於藉口 此刻 永遠就是踐行的第一步 未來只會充滿更多不定因素 且所有的事與人 時間 每一個要素都不會與現今一致  所以不想抱憾而眠 就會去想方設法去實現 另外想法越不表達 則越難表達 像凹陷的泥澤 沉之於內 困堪不能 若陷於這種困境中 唯有的出路 即是去暢想與表達 然後將其逐個化為現實 對於像我天生不滿於現狀的生命體而言 只有新的 由自身去創設的新維度世界才能令自我滿意的 而制定的目標遠而大 每一次的表達與創作都是在逐漸構成完整的理論體系 作品系列 就如一個空置的星球 上面所有的一切都需要一己之力去建造完善 未知的難度與驚喜同樣在這過程中 等待著我




- Swan:  I believe to complete these projects not only need to come up with ideas but also ask for competent courage and execution. Can you tell us, what drives your executive power or what is your purpose?


- NIKO EDWARDS:To me, inspiration is instantaneous. If I do not record and execute it, it will disappear as it is irreversible. in the premise of the idea and preparation of the framework, future will never have the excuse to use the specific conditions of maturity. At the moment, the first step is practicing of all time as the future is filled with uncertainties. Matters, people and time, each element will not be consistent with the present. I will find out the ways to realize my ideas and get it done on my own without leaving regret. The less you try to express, the less your can express, like setting a box of yourself. The way to break through this situation is begin motivated, with your imagination and try to express yourself. And then take time and make it happen one by one. As I am the kind of person who is eager to get more and dream big, only stay on the track to create and to explore and do the self-created of a new dimension world can make me a self-satisfaction. The goal is long-range and big, each expression and creation are gradually formed a complete theoretical system and series as a vacant planet where people have to build up everything on their own. And the surprises and the difficulties of the process is waiting for me.

- Swan: 抽象的藝術在現實中出現 是否是一種矛盾與衝突 而作為一個藝術創作者 只要作品的誕生於世人視線 自然會面對很多質疑與誤解 甚至是反對 那麼在你創作之旅上是如何堅持自我的獨立性與獨特性的呢?


- NIKO EDWARDS: 所謂抽象 只是其無法被理解 矛盾性只存在於如何去解讀 關乎於理解維度 感知程度 而且 不被理解的事物 通常有著不可估量的可能性 這世間 無意義的事物極多 但願意投入在他人認為無意義的事物裡的人極少 遠瞻者則會選擇成為極少派 而不是去順應世俗 而成無形無我之窘境 再者 每個人生下來就與這六十億人分享這擁擠不堪甚至混亂的世界 所以我在造屬於自己的空間 獨享廣袤的維度 每個獨立的靈魂也都是如此 我們建立屬於自我的領域 無盡思索 無止表達 一切無序也皆有序 一切醜惡美善於我定奪 成為造物者 與世不相矛盾也 但需時間 投入 一切為己所用之事物 終其一生 不與俗世同  




- Swan:  Abstract art in reality, willit come up to a contradiction and conflict? As a creator, as long as the workbegin public, going to face a lot of challenges and misunderstandings, evenobjections. So in your journey of creation is how to adhere to the independenceand uniqueness of the self?


- NIKO EDWARDS: The so-called abstraction which stand for the thing that is difficult to read. Contradiction is about the way of interpretation, the understanding the dimension, perception. Moreover, things that are not understood, often hiding immeasurable possibilities. In this secular world, including a lot of meaningless things, and the people who willing to devote to it is rare. Far-sighted people would like to be outsider, rather than adapt to the secular, losing identify. Each independent soul establishesthe field of self, doing endless thinking, endless expression. All disorder is orderly, I define the kindness and evil , also become a creators. And it takes time, have to put in investment, into the things that can promote yourself. Keeping the distance with common custom.

- Swan: 「 無盡思索 無止表達 一切無序也皆有序 一切醜惡美善於我定奪 成為造物者 與世不相矛盾也 」思索的意識可謂顯得頗為強烈 那你所認為的思想作用以及自我意識是怎樣的?


- NIKO EDWARDS:思考本身也是件趣事 某种程度而言它也是藝術 需要沉積地思哲系統 觸發的思索點 表達的媒介 傾訴的對象 在無序尋找秩序 在荒誕中體會情感 在反應堆裡製造武器或燃料 用思索的結果來進行或控制自我行為 以及對他人的影響 一切有如化學反應 但會效應隨機 而自我意識是嬰兒時期就開始存在的 能意會「我」的概念 於此基礎上由時間以及經歷所形成的高維「自我意識」是可確切知曉未來的定位以及所傾注 我初始於十六歲 像立於宇宙平線 清明了行進方向 以夢為舟 行進宇宙任意處 是告於自我的信條 五年來 間斷過 成就過 低谷過 好在 我越多維完整 燃烈之心 不熄

- Swan: 關於裝置本身 在光与霧在其空间中的运用是處於怎樣的考慮呢?

- NIKO EDWARDS:將裝置至於黑暗的環境 符合了在宇宙的空間環境設定 其黑暗之處充滿著的是暗物質 而對於光的考量是要能呈現出黑洞之境的神秘與多變 所選取的色彩基本上來源於宇宙中光的基本色彩 參考了星云 星體 星際之中的光亮顏色 然後進行隨機的轉變 將所有的元素融合變化 表現出多層視覺效果 而煙霧的運用 使之蒙上朦朧且神秘莫測的能效 煙霧將光線散射 就如星系中發出的光般朦朧美妙 黑洞吞噬的 恰好也是這種美妙與所謂美好 一種複雜矛盾情緒 使人難言 而霧填充能使空間視覺缩小 亦可以拓展空间 成為虛無的無盡之境 在黑洞邊緣的人 與黑洞之外的人產生了視覺上對比 當霧充斥於整個空間時 參照物的消失宛如時間的扭曲消逝 是置身於浩渺的星際空間或是現實之中 難以辨認




- Swan: How you come up the idea to put the light and fog in the setting?

- NIKO EDWARDS:Setting the installation in the dark environment match the vibe of universe where the is full of dark matter in its dark corner. The consideration of light is for showing the mysterious and the changing of the enviroment of the black hole and the selected color is basically derived from the basic color of light that comes from universe, referencing to the bright colors that among the nebula, stars, interstellar and then doing random color changing . Putting all the elements of fusion changes, showing multi-layer visual effects. As for the use of smoke is for creating a hazy and mysterious efficiency. Smoke will scatter the lights, marvelous as the hazy light that is from the galaxy and the things that black hole swallowed happen to it as well --- a complex inexpressible and contradictory emotions. The filling of the fog can narrow and expand the visual space , becoming nothingness part of the endless environment cause to the people who at the edge of the black hole with the people that outside the black hole had a visual contrast. When the fog fills the whole space, the disappearance of the reference object disappears like a twisting of time, and it is difficult to identify whether you are in the vast universe or in reality.

- Swan: 無論是你的攝影 繪畫 甚至是裝置作品 都在一定程度上契合著超現實主義的表達形式 你是怎樣理解其功用以及是如何運用到表達本身的?

- NIKO EDWARDS:從創作之初 偏好濃烈暗黑色彩 強對比的色調 在畫面內容上實驗多樣化的可能 基於自我想象 在創作方式上 自然而然 需要建立於現實而又超乎於現實的表現手法 超現實主義就是能表現出奇特情境的手法 在極大的限度內給予創作者表達的空間 兩者其實相輔相成 並非說是必須運用其才可表現作品 而是在這裡表達行徑中 這種類別劃分到了這一名詞下 表達與創作不能去限制 永遠是自由與多維的 才能有好的表達與呈現 所以依舊會嘗試不同的形式方式 將想象之境轉化成真




- Swan: No matter your photography, painting, or installation, some of them remind me of surrealism. What’s your understanding to its function and how you present it?

- NIKO EDWARDS:From the beginning of creation, preference for dark color, strong contrast to the tone. The painting was based on self-imagination, gradually, the expression of my creation develop to combine the reality and surrealism. Surrealism show us fantasy things , expanding the limits of imagination, but it is not the necessary skill to present my work.. The way to express and create shouldn’t be limited, only the expression form of art is free and multidimensional, we’re able to find out the better way to represent our work. So, I am still on my way to explore, turning my fantasy into painting.

- Swan: 據你的介紹 球體表示其形態 水系統表黑洞吸積作用 它們怎麼運作以及是互為何種關係?

- NIKO EDWARDS:將黑洞在現實中一分為二展開 上下合一即是黑洞的樣貌 這是我在三維空間中所能製成的樣貌 在一個存在引力的空間中 如何塑造一個超脫引力並且生成自由引力模式的樣式 懸掛球體 讓其在空中靜置或旋轉 在視覺上解決黑洞懸空的問題 而利用下凹的空間表示 黑洞引發的強大的時空曲率 使得時空扭曲 抽食引力範圍內的一切物質 粉碎星體 吞噬光線 到事件視界之中去 構造里的不間斷的水擬化著時空的潮汐以及所攜流逝進入的物質 那些在潮汐中碾壓推擠死去的恆星 行星 生物 面對的著消逝亦或重生 但我們所見也概如水流而入一瞬的 無法追溯過去 也阻擋不了其流逝趨勢 上方球體與下方圓形凹弧的水系統 在形態與功用上互為補充 構成整體 但兩者可單獨存在 亦或組合表達黑洞




- Swan:  According to your description: the sphere shows its shape, the water system stand for the black hole accretion effect. How do they work and what is their relationship?

- NIKO EDWARDS:The black hole is divided into two, one is on the top and one is on the bottom. This is the appearance of the three-dimensional space that I image. In a space of gravitational attraction, how to create a detached gravity and generate free gravitational patterns of style. Suspension of the ball, let it stand or rotate in the air, in the visual solution to the problem of black hole vacant. The use of concave space that the black hole caused by a strong space-time curvature, making space-time distortions, feeding gravity of all substances within the scope of. Smash the stars, swallow the light, to the event horizon to go. The uninterrupted water in the tectonics tides the tides of time and space, and the material that is carried into them. Those that crush and push dead stars, planets, creatures in the tides, disappear or rebirth in the face, but what we see But also as a stream into the moment.  It can not be traced back, and it also can not stop the flow of water. The upper sphere and the lower circular arc water system, complement each other in form and function, constitute a whole. It both can be present alone or combine together to express a metaphysical black hole.

- Swan: 在這一次裝置作品中 所融入的行為藝術是在討論人與黑洞的關係?其深層含義是什麼?


- NIKO EDWARDS:此次行為分為表面三個表現層次 一是在黑洞之外 二是在黑洞邊界 三是處於黑洞之中 在黑洞之外是處於一種觀察以及探尋的狀態 類似於現今我們的情狀 只能通過觀察 無法探訪甚至靠近 而二在黑洞的邊界則是與其互動 在邊界之境的行走 ( 也是在擬繪出黑洞的引力方向) 觸碰 思索 然後被納入 進入到黑洞之中 在與其互動中 探討人處於其內會有怎樣的情景出現 是拉伸的肉身 還是具象的亦或是可進入到高維度空間中進行對話 我所選擇的表現形式是精神被抽離出來 以獨立的個體(人形魂體 )在維度中存在 使得人與黑洞可以的互動與表述 關於時空環境的想象 內部環境的描繪 人的形態肢體表達 由自生的生物體的形態去接觸宇宙古老而奇妙的物質天體 提供了不同的想象空間與實驗色彩 一個整體存在時間相較於黑洞而言是一瞬不及的物體 一個整體體積相比於黑洞而言是一微不及的物體 當極微碰上極廣 當極弱撞上極強 一種強烈對比間能頓生無數種情感與思索 進而回溯我們自我的本源問題「我們為何存在 而存在的意義又是為何 」




- Swan: In this installation, with the combination of performance is for discuss the relationship of human and black hole? What is the inner meaning of the object?

- NIKO EDWARDS:The performance is divided into the surface of the three levels of performance: the first is outside the black hole, the second level is in the black hole boundary and the third level is in the middle of the black hole. outside the black hole is kind of observation and exploration which is similar to our current way of thinking that we only can observe things most of the time. The boundary of the black hole is for doing interacting, as you are walking alone the boundary is also similar to drawing the direction of the gravitational direction of black hole. Then you touch, you think, and be part of it. The interaction explores what kind of the scene will be shown when people involved, like whether it is a stretching of body, it is possible to enter into a high-dimensional space for dialogue? My expression form is that the spirit is drawn away from the body but exists as an individual soul with human figure, making the human being interact and representable with the black hole. The imagination of the space-time environment, the depiction of the internal environment, the expression of the human body and the contact of the ancient and wonderful material objects by the form of their own organisms provide different imaginary spaces and experimental colors. A complete existence time compared to black hole is like a flash, an overall volume compared to the black hole is a slight object. When the micro one meet the wide one, when the weak hit the things is strong, a strong contrast between innumerable emotions and thinking, and then back to the origin of our self problem "Why do we exist? And what is the significance of it ?

- Swan: 對於裝置的願景以及未來的計劃是什麼?


- NIKO EDWARDS:對於裝置的願景的話是 能讓更多人參觀與體驗 在更多場地與空間 而對於未來的計劃 不外乎把想法繼續逐一實現 持續於裝置項目 繪畫 實驗 玩樂 開啟極限運動 以及自我進化 見取更多視野 將我的外星世界帶於地球 以入侵的形式 降臨於現實之中




- Swan:  What is your longing and plans to the installation?

- NIKO EDWARDS:Hoping the public could join it the setting and wish my project could be set in more venues and individual spaces. And for the future plan, nothing more than the idea to continue to achieve one by one, continued in the device project, painting, experiment, play, extreme sports , self-evolution and broaden my horizon. I will bring my alien world to the Earth in an invasive way, turn my imagination into reality.
